A local man passed away on Tuesday after getting trapped between two boats near M. Kolhufushi.

Maldives Police Service said the incident occurred while the two boats were alongside each other. They received reports that a person got trapped between the two vessels at 4:40 pm. The police said the man had already passed away when he was rescued and taken to Muli Regional Hospital.

The police are looking into the accident.
