A police constable and a member of the Civil Security Department were arrested for transporting Kerala Cannabis on a motorcycle in Ampara.

The Police Special Task Force (STF) of the Ampara camp arrested the suspects at a police check point on the Ampara-Hingurana road for possession of 656 grams of Cannabis.

The constable is attached to the Chawalakade Police Station and the CSD member is attached to the Uhana camp.

Both suspects are 36 years old and they were handed over to the Ampara Police for further investigations.
