A meeting was held between Communist Party of China Yunnan Provincial Standing Committee member and Head of Propaganda Department Chang Yan and Nepali intellectuals and media workers at the Jana Aastha Office Sanepa.
The team led by Chinese leader Yan, the communication advisor of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the head of Xinhua Nepal, the head of South Asia Network TV, the editor of the English edition of Gorkhapatra, The Rising Nepal, the head of Jan Astha and other distinguished personalities were present in the meeting which started from 10 am on Wednesday morning.
In that meeting, news exchange between Nepal and Yunnan and new opportunities for people-to-people cooperation were discussed. Keeping in view the changing times and changing lifestyles, the development of the media sector and the training of media personnel was also discussed. Point-by-point comments were also made about what kind of cooperation could be possible between Yunnan province and Nepal.
Kishore Shrestha, the head of Jana Aastha, informed that the media of both countries should work hard to bring about a change in thinking through the media, as there is a negative impression on the people of Nepal about the Belt and Road Initiative.
During that communication friendly stay, Nepal-China Media Forum published a book named Xi Jin Ping in the eyes of Nepalese. In addition, the team led by Yan also signed a memorandum of understanding on China-Yunnan cooperation with Jan Aastha in Nepali language. With this, the meeting expressed the belief that news broadcasting between Nepal and China will be facilitated.
