Puttalam, April 25 - A judge from the Puttalam Qazi Court has been arrested by officials from the Commission to Investigate Bribery or Corruption, for accepting a Rs. 5,000 bribe. 

The arrest followed a complaint from a resident of the Vettalai area in Puttalam. 

The judge had allegedly demanded the bribe from a woman in exchange for issuing a divorce certificate related to a court judgment. 

Following his arrest, the suspect was produced before the Puttalam Magistrate's Court and remanded until May 6.
