SATV March 5, Kathmandu: The Karnali Provincial Hospital at Surkhet has conducted six successful kidney transplants so far.
At a press meet organized by the Hospital here on Tuesday, Hospital's Director Dr Keshar Dhakal shared that the transplant service was launched at the Hospital after an agreement between the Hospital and the Shahid Dharmabhakta National Organ Transplant Centre, Bhaktapur on April 3, 2022.
On the occasion, Dr Dhakal reaffirmed the commitment for capacity enhancement of the doctors, nurses and technicians at the Hospital for more effective healthcare services.
According to him, the Centre has been providing technical support to launch kidney transplant services at the Hospital.
In addition to transplant, the Hospital also provides cardiovascular services as well, informed Dr Dhakal, adding that the Cath lab is already put to test for the same.
In addition to that, the Hospital provides oncology services for cancer treatment, burn treatment and surgeries, he said. The Hospital is also going to launch neurology related services soon.
