Tourism Ministry has stated that Maldives’ recorded the highest number of tourist arrivals on a single day since the border reopening in July of last year, on Sunday, December 5.
Noting that a total of 6292 tourist arrivals were recorded on Sunday – the Ministry said that this is the highest number of tourist arrivals to the Maldives on a single day, since the border reopening.
As per the latest statistics by the Tourism Ministry, Maldives recorded the highest number of tourist arrivals this year in November, with over 144,725 visitors.
An average of 4,824 tourists visited Maldives each day in November, with the highest arrivals in a single day recorded on November 21 with 5,987 arrivals.
Records released by Tourism Ministry show Maldives welcomed 1,162,425 tourists by December 1.

India: 261,164 tourist arrivals
Russia: 205,246 tourist arrivals
Germany: 83,817 tourist arrivals
Unites States: 48,949 tourist arrivals
United Kingdom: 46,177 tourist arrivals
Maldives celebrated its one-millionth tourist of the year back in October, and tourist bed nights this year passed 10 million earlier this December, placing the country well on track to breaking the record of 10.7 million bed nights recorded back in 2019.
