Nepal holds the inaugural ceremony of South Asia International Book Fair 2023 on November 21, Tuesday with the theme of "Explore the charm of Asian Culture and literature". The book fair starting from today is being exhibited until 25 of Dec on Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. The fair keeps the objective of having "hand to hand books, home to home library".
Organised by Federation of Nepalese Books and Stationary Business in cooperation with Current Media and Research Centre Pvt. Ltd., the program was co-organised by China International Book Trading Corporation to make it a success.

Honourable Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal as the Chief guest of the event ensured that he will be contributing anything possible to develop the educational sector of Nepal and has been working to make Nepalese educational system youth favourable and independent continuously. He added, "me any my team have completed meeting in-between governmental bodies and then in-between government to private sector regarding the improvement in plans and policy of educational sector of our nation".

His Excellency, Mr. Chen song, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, described how the spread of books is the messenger of civilization. He expressed, "the International Book Fair must have the courage to serve as a barrier- breaker and pioneer in cultural exchanges contributing the Nepal's initiative of involvement in Global Civilization".

Educationist Dr. Mahashram Sharma, Chairman of the National Examination Board highlighted on the fact that Nepal, in-between world's two of the greatest nations with robust reading culture, China and India, also has a need to develop and learn some reading culture from its neighbouring countries.

Chairman of Current Media and Research Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Kiran Gautam shares that the international book fair was his late father, Devendra Gautama's dream, who was a renowned writer of Nepal. He expresses his happiness sharing, "Nepal, disappointedly hadn't had any international book fair organised for 10 years and it is all thanks to the ambassador of China for making the plan, since 2019, a success".

This international book fair brings together different nation's knowledge, books, writings from child to adult. Even religious book stalls prevailed in the fair to invite readers of every taste. Countries like: China, Srilanka, India, Bangladesh etc have reunited under the roof of Bhrikutimandap in order to reignite the passion of reading among Nepalese neighbors.
