SATV, November 25: Organiser group of "War Horse" Nepal Pokhara International Himalaya Cross-Country Race Competition conducted award ceremony and dinner night at today at Hotel Pauwa, Pokhara.
From an ambassador of China to Nepal, Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, National Sports Association to CEO of Nepal Tourism Board, all gathered in Pauwa with the objective of giving a warm award ceremony to the winners of the competition.
At the team's competition of 40 km, team of Suman Kulung, Ramesh Limbu, Indrakala Nemwang successfully secured the first position.
The group of Basanta Tharu, Mukesh Tharu and Shrebi Maharjan bagged the second place. Similarly, Tika Sunwar, Keshari Thapa and Sreekesh Rai's team won the third place.
The first, second, third, fourth and fifth of 40 km race winners were awarded with medals along with 3 lakh 60 thousands, two lakhs eighty eight thousands, 2 lakh 16 thousands, 1 lakh 44 thousands and 99 thousands respectively.
At the men's individual race of 38 kilometres Homlal Shrestha from Nepal Army victoriously won the first place by completing the target of the distance within 2:33:42 seconds which has also amazingly broken the international record.
The second and third position at men's race was secured by Bed Bahadur Sunwar and Tirtha Bahadur Tamang respectively.
At women's individual race, Manju Rawat stood triumphant by securing first place while second and third place was secured by Padam Kumari Sunwar and Zheng Junyue.
In the second 38 kilometres running race, 1 lakh 44 thousands, 1 lakh 8 thousands, 54 thousands, 18 thousands and nine thousand cash was prized to first, second, third, fourth and fifth of the competitiors respectively.
The 5 km winners of boys and girls were divided and awarded differently. Multiple school students of Pokhara participated in this race where the top five winners were awarded with cash prize starting from 5,000 to 25,000 respectively. The position holders from 6th to 25th were honoured with medals by Chinese Ambassador to Nepal and other officials.
The game that started at the early hour of this day ended late night with the proper completion of the awarding ceremony to the participants along with a celebration of warm dinner and cultural night to the winning team.
