Wanni, April 9 - Plans are underway to launch a programme aimed at providing preferential assistance to the families of war heroes across various sectors such as health, public administration, banking and other services in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, Tri Forces and the Ranaviru Seva Authority, State Minister of Defence Premitha Bandara Tennakoon said.

The Minister also announced the government's intention to prioritize war heroes and their families in the 'Urumaya' land deeds presentation programme, aiming to provide them with land ownership opportunities.

"It is crucial that we prioritize the welfare of those who have given so much for our country," the Minister said at a programme at the Regimental Centre of the Gajaba Regiment.
