A week after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Jadab Lal Nath was served a show cause notice over violation of the model of conduct during the second phase of Lok Sabha polls, Nath apologised and assured not to involve in such activities in future.

Jadab Lal Nath represents the Bagbassa assembly constituency in North Tripura. Nath was issued the show cause notice for allegedly misbehaving with a Booth Level Officer (BLO) in the Bagbassa assembly segment which comes under the East Tripura ST-reserved Parliamentary constituency which went to polls on April 26.

A press statement from the chief electoral officer (CEO) on Saturday stated that Nath was accused of violating model code of conduct in the East Tripura (ST-reserved) constituency on April 26 and accordingly, the North electoral officer served him a showcause notice.

“In reply, MLA Jadab Lal Nath yesterday (Friday) sought apology for his deeds and said that this kind of act will not be repeated in future. North Election Officer cautioned MLA Jadab Lal Nath of getting involved in such activities in future”, the statement said.

Last year, a 54-second-long video clip of Nath went viral on social media where he was seen watching pornographic content on his mobile phone in the Tripura Assembly, while the House was in session.
