Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith had been secretly separated since 2016 Jada revealed that the 2022 Oscars incident helped strengthen their relationship
Despite the ups and downs in their relationship, Will Smith believes wife Jada Pinkett Smith always has his back.
The 55-year-old Hollywood star was at a screening of his upcoming film, Bad Boys: Ride or Die, where he briefly chatted with Entertainment Tonight about who he considers his own “ride or die.”
Will responded, “It’s funny, I was just talking about this, I have always been blessed that there has never been a time in my life when I didn’t look to the side and have a ride or die right there.
He then went on to honour his wife-of-two decades with that title.
“Jada is one of the most gangsta ride-or-die’s I’ve ever had,” he declared.
In addition to Jada, 52, the Oscar-winner also highlighted longtime friends DJ Jazzy Jeff and Alfonso Ribeiro as key "ride-or-die" figures in his life.
After meeting on the set of The Fresh prince of Bel-Air, Will and Jada officially became a couple in 1995 and tied the knot in 1997. They welcomed their son Jada a few months later, followed by their daughter Willow.
In October 2023, Jada revealed that she and Will have been secretly separated since 2016. However, she later told the Daily Mail that the infamous 2022 Oscars incident – where Will slapped host Chris Rock for making a joke about Jada – actually helped to strengthen their relationship.
