Chitwan Landslide: Two Passanger Busses Went Missing in Trishuli River

SATV, Kathmandu, July 12: The search operation has started for the two passenger buses that went missing in the Trishuli river in a landslide at Simaltal on the Narayangadh-Muglin road.

Chief District Officer of Chitwan Indradev Yadav said that a team including divers has been mobilized to search for the two missing buses.

According to him, two passenger buses fell into Trishuli river around 3:30 am today.

Mr. Yadav said that Ganapati Deluxe, which was going to Gaur in Rautahat from Kathmandu and Angel Deluxe bus number 1516 of Bagmati Province which was going to Kathmandu from Birgunj, fell into the Trishuli river and went missing.

It is estimated that there were 42 passengers on the bus going to Gaur and 24 passengers on the bus going to Kathmandu. In the incident, some passengers saved their lives by jumping from the window.

The bus heading from Kathmandu to Gaur, Rautahat had 30 people including driver Kishore Chaudhary and conductor Rishi Singh.

According to the information provided by Ganpati Travels Bus Counter at Kalanki, 27 passengers boarded the bus from Kathmandu to Rautahat. In the bill number provided by the bus counter, the address, mobile number and name of the bus passengers has been revealed but the surname is not mentioned.

Similarly, the details of 21 passengers carried by Angel Deluxe bus number 1516 of Bagmati province going from Birgunj to Kathmandu have been received. According to the information received so far, the police said that there were 7 Indian citizens in the bus.
