Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Abrar Hashmi, said that he is committed to the necessary cooperation and assistance to increase the export of Nepali goods to Pakistan.
In a meeting with the delegation of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), led by its President Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, at the CNI secretariat in the Capital on Friday, he said that since there is a good market for tea in Pakistan, Nepali tea can be exported. The two sides discussed issues of bilateral interest.
Stating that Pakistani tourists would prefer to visit Nepal, Hashmi suggested that arrangements be made for digital payments between the two countries.
Welcoming Ambassador Hashmi to the Secretariat of the CNI, Agrawal said that the Confederation is cooperating with the government and other concerned bodies for overall economic development. He emphasised that the trade deficit with Pakistan should be reduced through the products like tourism, tea and coffee. Agrawal mentioned that re-establishment of direct air link between the two counties would help the tourism industry. He also requested the ambassador to provide necessary support and coordination for the same.
