More than 71 Nepalese students awarded with Chinese Scholarship

Kathmandu, August 15: More than 71 students were awarded with scholarship to China in an Award Ceremony of Chinese Government Scholarship and Farewell Reception for Nepalese overseas students. Software engineer, medical, agriculture, aerospace, computer applications and other subjects has been chosen by the students. China has been providing scholarship to Nepalese students for more than 74 years now.

The program was organized by Embassy of People's Republic of China in Nepal. The scholarship has been sponsored by Chinese  Government Scholarship of academic year 2023/2024. Nepal China Cultural and Educational Council co-organized the program.

Ashok Rai, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in the program expressed, "these inter-national studies  shall make our international bond stronger . You as students are the messenger of the citizens".

Mr. Rai adds, "The world is currently in the time of technological development and I hope this is not just an opportunity of yours but I also see an opportunity for enlightening Nepalese future in upcoming days through the learning of different skills".

Honourable Cheng Song, Chinese ambassador to Nepal, in his speech addressing to the students conveyed, " they are the bridge of the friendship between Nepal and China". As they all are heading not just to complete their studies but also to fulfill the great aim of nation's development and citizen's prosperity, he hopes that they would be a great contribution and help to build Nepal after the completion of their studies.

Dr. Harish Chandra Shah, president of Nepal China Cultural and Educational Council wishes the students adding to it, "Chinese government has been  providing scholarships to Nepal since 1957. China qualified higher skill manpower are working to contribute in Nepal as well as in abroad too".

Rosha Bista, 2021 graduate shares her experience that her time was very trans-formative journey and warns the students highlighting the do's and dont's which focuses that discipline is utmost.  She adds, hardwork and dedication can build incredible opportunity with teachers and peers.

Pritisha Shrestha, a recent graduate from China horizon of understanding diverse perspectives shared from all corners of the world. Expressing her experiences Shrestha adds," Language barriers, cultural differences and moments of home sickness may test the resilience but that leaves one just to groom the most".

Pranisha Gurung, a graduate of arts from Tianjin University, expressed how the challenges can set foot in student's path but the welcoming environment of China can be of a great help. She evaluates, " It is an international community and we as students need to maintain discipline during the stay in China. It is the student's responsibility".
