200 Tourism Professionals of Nepal benefited from Chinese Language Training Course

Kathmandu, August 9 (South Asia Network TV) 5th Chinese Language Training Course for Nepalese Tourism Professionals Graduation Ceremony program was held on August 8 in Nepal Tourism Board, Kathmandu. 40 tourism professionals of Nepal graduated the Chinese language training course on Tuesday. 

The language class has been organized as per an agreement between Nepal and China signed during Nepalese Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's visit to China in March 2016. According to the agreement, China will provide Chinese language and culture training course to 200 tourism professionals of Nepal within five years to promote tourism sector as China had become one of the major source of tourists for Nepal.

"Within the six months Chinese language training, the tourism professionals not only learned the Chinese language but also learned the Chinese kungfu, Chinese dance and songs which help them to better understand the Chinese culture'', noted Harish Chandra Shah, president of Nepal China Cultural and Educational Council.

Wang Xin, DCM of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, said that the language training not only provided information about the Chinese language but also about Chinese art and culture. He believes that the language training will help the tourism professionals to better serve the increasing number of Chinese tourists and contribute in the development of Nepal’s tourism sector.

''In further days, we are planning to conduct such training courses in other major cities like Chitwan, Bhairahawa, Pokhara'', Bharatmani Subedi, secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation addresses in his speech.

The training course organized by Chinese embassy in Nepal and co-organized by Nepal China Cultural and Educational Council and Nepal Tourism Board. A total of 200 tourism professionals were trained in 2016-2023 under the six-month program. The 5th Chinese language training course for Nepalese tourism professionals was started on February 10, 2023 after a three-year impact of COVID-19 pandemic to support the recovery of Nepal tourism sector.

The Chinese language training course has been taken as a great milestone in the development of Nepal's tourism and for the promotion of Nepal in China.
