Kathmandu, Aug 23: The opening ceremony of the 2nd Huawei Cup Basketball Competition of the Chinese Enterprise Association in Nepal made a grand opening on Tuesday in Dhumbarahi. "Struggle bravely and strive for the vanguard, create brilliance together through thick and thin", read the theme of the competition which regards yearning for unity, cooperation and hard work.

More than 20 Chinese-funded enterprises in Nepal formed 6 teams competed. Chen Song, Ambassador of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal; Xie Yu, Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal；Lu Guozheng, Military Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal，Zhu Qingjun；President of the Chinese Enterprises Association in Nepal, Jin Xiaodong; President of the Nepalese Overseas Chinese Association and members of the Chinese Enterprises Association in Nepal attended the opening ceremony.

Zhu Qingjun, chairman of the Chinese Enterprise Association, served as the head of the preparatory team for this competition, and Luo Xiaorong, a representative of China Railway Second Bureau, served as the executive deputy team leader. The organizing committee consisted of competition group, referee group and volunteer group.

In his opening speech, Chen Song said that this basketball game not only promoted the cultural and sports activities and physical fitness of Chinese-funded enterprises in Nepal, but also promoted the cooperation and exchanges between enterprises. I hope that the game will uphold the spirit of friendship first and competition second. He concludes, "I look forward for a fair, united and exciting basketball game."

Luo Xiaorong, captain of the Pioneer Team, said in an interview with a reporter from Nanya Net TV, "We usually play basketball with Chinese and Nepalese friends on a fixed basketball court every Saturday. It is an opportunity for cultural exchanges, where everyone learns basketball skills from each other and enjoys the fun of the game together." He also said, "The slogan of the Pioneer team is 'Pioneer attack, invincible', I believe we can win this game."

This competition is mainly divided into two stages, the group stage and the final. The group matches will be held on August 22, 24, and 26, and the finals of the game will be held on the 28th. The championship, runner-up and third place of this competition will be determined on finale.
