"Silk Road" Chinese Music Concert, a cultural programme held Thursday night( Aug 31st) at Army officer's club was organised by Suzhou Chinese Orchestra in association with China Cultural Center in Nepal, China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd, World Cultural Net and Nepal China Cultural and Educational Council.
The program has been sponsored by Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Nepal and China Musicians Associations.
The concert was organised in order to present an art of Chinese culture and traditions among the Chinese and Nepalese audience. It believed to widen the periphery of their knowledge regarding the Chinese culture in depth making every Nepali more familiar with the Chinese culture whereas contributing to provide a Chinese cultural night to Nepal resided Chinese people.
The performance used traditional Chinese instrumental pieces, including Guzheng, Pipa, Suona, Dizi, Sheng, Zhongruan, Yangqin, Erhu and Chinese drum percussion instruments.

His Excellency Chinese ambassador to Nepal, honourable Chen Song lighted the event as a chief guest of the program. Mr. Song in his speech said, “For thousands of years, the two peoples have had amicable ties, jointly writing an epic of exchanges among civilizations along the ancient Silk Road. As this year marks the 10th anniversary of the “Belt and Road” initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, we are pleased to have Chinese national-level music group the “Golden Bell Stars”Ensemble to perform in Nepal, as a celebration of long-lasting China-Nepal friendship.”
The orchestra melodiously presented songs, folk songs, Chinese tales, love to nature and even Nepali musics. Orchestra musicians changed the mood with their perfect notes. The live playing of varieties of musical instruments and performer's amusing vocals and sounds filled the audiences with added zeal and enthusiasm. The awe strucking performances of actors and actresses one after another increased the silence among the audiences earning large applauds from and among the audiences at the end.
Chinese instrumental ensemble on Nepali song Resam Firiri to Chinese music Flowers Blooming Under the Full Moon and The Silk Road was exceptionally played making a great indulging beginning of the evening.
The group of the orchestra players involved the audiences mood with the swing of its music from fast to slow, jolly to serious and playful to energetic eventually as the night grew darker to maker the atmosphere more lively.
