A section of the Dhaka-Sylhet railway line, spanning at least 15 feet, has bent due to heat in Akhaura upazila in Brahmanbaria.

The incident took place near Azampur Railway Station on Sunday afternoon. 

On receiving the information, the railway workers repaired the line immediately, said Assistant Executive Engineer of Akhaura Railway Station Mehedi Hasan Tareq.

Fortunately, there was no disruption to train movement as there were no scheduled trains at that time.

It is common for railway lines to bend under excessive temperatures. While the normal temperature may be around 30°C, the railway line can reach temperatures of 40-50°C due to various factors.

Asked why the railway line bent even though the temperature in the district was below 30°C on Sunday, the official said: "It is not so hot yet, it is true. However, the railway line can still bend, especially in curved sections of the tracks.”
