Bill Cobbs, veteran actor and The Bodyguard, Air Bud and Night at the Museum actor died at the age of 90.

“We are saddened to share the passing of Bill Cobbs. On Tuesday, June 25, Bill passed away peacefully at his home in California,” a family member announced the news in a Facebook post.

“A beloved partner, big brother, uncle, surrogate parent, godfather and friend, Bill recently and happily celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by cherished loved ones. As a family we are comforted knowing Bill has found peace and eternal rest with his Heavenly Father. We ask for your prayers and encouragement during this time.”

The reason of death was not revealed.

According to TMZ, Cobbs passed away Tuesday night at his Riverside, California residence, which is about an hour east of Los Angeles.

Cobbs had an acting career of more than fifty years. He began his career at the Karamu House Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio, where he starred in the play Purlie Victorious, according to his IMDb profile.

The actor made his feature film debut in the 1974 crime thriller The Taking of Pelham One Two Three.
