SATV Kathmandu, January 24: On the occasion of the Chinese New Year, the Kathmandu University Confucius Institute and Modern English Secondary School, Bhaktapur, successfully organized a cultural exhibition and inauguration of a Confucius Classroom.
The event featured performances by Chinese artists based in Nepal, along with students and teachers studying the Chinese language.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Li Shuwang Cheng, Director of the Kathmandu University Confucius Institute, highlighted how cultural and artistic exchanges have further strengthened Nepal-China relations.
Bagmati Province Assembly Member Surendra Gosai emphasized the role of initiatives like China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in contributing to Nepal's development. He encouraged integrating Chinese language education with other academic pursuits and extended his best wishes for the Chinese New Year.
Various schools, including Bajra Academy, Khwopa Secondary School, Kathmandu University, and Modern English Secondary School, presented dance performances and showcased Shaolin martial arts during the event.
Concluding the program, Anil Kashpal, Principal of Modern School and College, emphasized that the exchange of language, culture, art, and civilization plays a vital role in garnering international recognition. He also conveyed his wishes for the Chinese New Year before officially closing the event.
