SATV, Kathmandu, January 12 – On January11, South Asia Network TV launched its 2025 journey with a lively and meticulously planned team-building event. Designed to foster team cohesion and inject energy into the new year, the event was held around Indrasarowar Lake,50 kilometers from Kathmandu. Known for its breathtaking scenery and rich cultural heritage, the location provided a serene retreat for employees toconnect with nature and strengthen bonds.
An Unexpected Journey
The day began at dawn, with employees gathering at the meeting point brimming with excitement. A rented bus set off towards Indrasarowar Lake, but thejourney proved challenging. Poor road conditions turned the 50-kilometer trip into a four-hour ordeal, forcing adjustments to the planned activities. The group shifted focus to a central theme of "culinary delights."
Upon arrival, the mesmerizing beauty of Kulekhani Lake immediately lifted spirits. Crystal-clear waters shimmered under the sun,surrounded by lush green mountains and an expansive blue sky.
A Feast by the Lake
As Nepali music played in the background, employees quickly secured a spacious lakeside spot and began preparations. Deputy Editor Ramila Gautam led by example, crafting a pot of traditional Nepali milk tea with expert precision.Meanwhile, the company chef and staff fired up the grill, filling the air with the tantalizing aroma of marinated chicken wings, lamb, and beef sizzling onthe barbecue.
Colleagues contributed their culinaryskills, making fresh salads, naan bread, and sauces. The collaborative effort turned into a delightful feast featuring Nepali curry rice, flatbreads, fresh fruits, and beverages. The team savored the meal while taking in the stunning lake views, sharing stories, and building camaraderie in a relaxed atmosphere.
Cultural Immersion and Fun
The afternoon brought free time for employees to explore and unwind. Some strolled along the lakeshore, capturing serene reflections in the water, while others ventured into the village to interact with locals and soak in the cultural vibe. Many captured the memorable moments on camera, preserving the day’s joy.
The event also featured music and dance sessions. Nepali drivers Ashmin and Ishwor became the stars of the show, energizing the group with their spirited dances and melodious singing.Encouraged by their enthusiasm, Chinese colleagues joined in, attempting traditional Nepali dances with gusto, fostering cultural exchange and deepening mutual understanding.
Elsewhere, a lively card game unfolded,led by Editor-in-Chief Ramesh Shrestha. The game created a friendly yet competitive atmosphere filled with laughter and light hearted banter.
