Nine primary contacts and close to 30 secondary contacts of the 54-year-old man, an airline crew, who tested positive to Covid-19 on December 5 tested negative yesterday.

Following the positive case, the health team traced the contacts and quarantined the primary contacts.

According to a health official, two primary contacts were from the airport who met with the 54-year-old while declaring the health form, while the others were from the quarantine centre he stayed in.

The primary contacts will remain in quarantine for two weeks.

Health officials said that the crew denied having interacted with any passengers on board.

Following the positive case among the front liners, the health team imposed strict quarantine rules with De-Suups and security personnel on duty at the facilities.

Earlier, the standard operating procedures (SOP) of the airline crews relaxed inter-movement within the quarantine campus.

The airport health team took the RT-PCR test of more than 400 frontline workers at the airport. It was part of their routine SOP to conduct the test in every two weeks. The result will be declared today.

Meanwhile, health officials said that there are no other positive cases when asked about a rumour of 27 people who tested positive at the airport.
