Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen graced a prayer ceremony yesterday morning to light a thousand butter lamps for those affected by the earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria earlier this week. Over 21,000 people have lost their lives, and millions more have been affected by the disaster.
The ceremony was held in memory of the deceased, and as an expression of solidarity with the people of Turkey and Syria. The Prime Minister, senior government officials, foreign diplomats, and representatives from international organizations also joined the ceremony held at the Grand Kuenrey of the Tashichhodzong.
