DHANGADHI: Defending champions Manang Marshyangdi Club advanced to the final of the sixth Sudurpashchim Chief Minister Khaptad Gold Cup here at the Dhangadhi Stadium on Wednesday.

MMC hammered seven-man Avenir Football Club 6-0 in the first semi-final match. Avenir started with nine men due to lack of paper works of team members and they ended with seven after two footballers received red cards.

Jordan Junior was expelled in the 24th minute, while goalkeeper Napolean Yan received marching orders in the 31st minute. Jeevan Gurung opened the scoring in the 12th minute, while MMC netted five goals in the second half including a hat-trick from player-of-the-match Sayidjamol Davlation.

Prashanna Shrestha and Anil Gurung also found the back of the nets. Three Star Club will take on hosts Sudurpashchim-XI in another semi-final match on Thursday.

The final is slated for Saturday.
