Two road accidents took place in Hulhumale’ Phase II on Monday, leaving one person dead and another in serious condition.

The second accident took place near the Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) flats at around 09:56 am. It involved a collision between a pickup and a motorbike.

The accident resulted in injuries to a 59-year-old male, who was taken to the Hulhumale’ Hospital.

He died while under treatment at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the earlier accident had taken place near the JMC site at around 01:20 am. The accident involved a collision between two motorbikes, and left two people injured; a 19-year-old male and a 56-year-old male.

They were initially treated at the Hulhumale’ Hospital before getting transferred to ADK Hospital in Male’ City.

According to police, the 56-year-old is reported to be in serious condition.

Both accidents are under investigation by the police.
