The Kekirawa police has arrested a female attorney-at-law who had allegedly torn and destroyed two copies of documents that were included in a file in the archives in relation to a land case pending before the Kekirawa District Magistrate's Court.
Police said the Attorney representing the proceedings of the Kekirawa District Magistrate's Court had reportedly torn two documents from a file related to a land case in the court registry and had chewed and destroyed them inside the court.
She was arrested after court officials who were on duty in the archives notified the court registrar.
The police officers who were on duty in court at that time examined the suspected lawyer and found some pieces of the documents that she had chewed and destroyed.
Police said the lawyer will be produced before the Kekirawa Magistrate's Court tomorrow (28).
