PDP declares three more candidates

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) declared its candidates for the Lhuentse, Mongar, and Trashiyangtse constituencies for the upcoming National Assembly election.

The party has declared Chimi Dorji, 49, to represent from Gangzur_Minjey constituency from Lhuentse.

He holds a Master of Business (Advanced Accounting) from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane, Australia.

He has been in the civil service for about 27 years. Before joining the party, he served in the Royal Audit Authority for 25 years, followed by over one and a half years as the dzongdag of Zhemgang.

Tobgay Tobgay (PhD), 49, will represent Dramedtse-Ngatshang constituency from Mongar.

He completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Geosciences from Princeton University in December 2011.

Tobgay Tobgay started his career as a geologist with the Department of Geology and Mines in 2001. He was also a teaching and research assistant at the University of Texas, El Paso and Princeton University. In April 2013, he resigned from the Department of Geology and Mines, embracing a role as an Assistant Research Professor at the University of Texas, El Paso.

The party has also declared Thinley Wangchuk, 47, to represent Trashiyangtse’s Bumdeling-Jamkhar constituency.

Thinley Wangchuk graduated from Sherubtse College and was in the civil service for 22 years. He also worked as the officiating director, chief information and media officer in the National Council, and deputy chief marketing officer in the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives.

The party has declared 46 candidates so far.
