A motorbike and car collided on the L. Atoll link road on Saturday, leaving one person dead.
A police spokesperson said the accident was reported to the police at 06:25 pm on Saturday.
The accident left two people injured; the driver of the motorbike, and one of two people in the car.
The injured were taken to the Gan Regional Hospital.
The driver of the motorbike, identified as a 41-year-old Maldivian male, died in the hospital at around 01:51 am on Sunday.
While he was a licensed driver, police said that the driver of the car, identified as a 28-year-old Maldivian male, was not licensed to drive a four-wheeled vehicle.
The accident is under investigation by the police.
