His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck is in Kuwait as an envoy of His Majesty The King, to convey condolences from His Majesty and the people of Bhutan, on the demise of the late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received His Royal Highness at the Bayan Palace yesterday. His Royal Highness also offered felicitations to His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, for assuming the responsibilities as the Amir of the State of Kuwait.
His Royal Highness also conveyed condolences to the late Amirs family, and senior Sheikhs, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
HRH Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck was accompanied by the former Prime Minister of Bhutan, Dasho (Dr.) Lotay Tshering and other officials of the Royal Government of Bhutan.
His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Late Amir of Kuwait, passed away on 16 December 2023, at the age of 86. Subsequently, the Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was named as the Amir of Kuwait on 16 December 2023.
