Colombo, Jan. 04 - The claims made by top economists of the National People’s Power (NPP) that a future NPP government will not honour Sri Lanka’s USD 12 billion ISB debt shows that the NPP has no idea how to run a country, SJB MP and economist Dr. Harsha De Silva said.

Taking to Twitter, he said NPP‘s chief economic adviser Prof. Anil Jayantha earlier insinuated that a future NPP government will not honour Sri Lanka’s USD 12 billion ISB debt and it has now been reiterated by its top economist Sunil Handunhetti as well.

“That a future JVP/NPP Government will not honour Sri Lanka's USD 12b ISB debt; first insinuated by their chief economic adviser Prof Anil Jayantha and now repeated clearly by their top economist Sunil Handunhetti goes to show that these guys have absolutely no idea how to run a country,” MP Harsha de Silva tweeted.
