December 20, Kathmandu. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda" has said that the government under his leadership will not even imagine any agreement against the national interest.

On Friday morning, the Prime Minister said this during the discussion on the bill to amend the Act 2066 related to the Constitutional Council (Works, Duties, Rights and Procedures) of the State Order and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives.

Prime Minister clarified about it after he was asked about the meeting of Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar with the Prime Minister and the agreement made by Nepal, in his discussion with MPs.

In the discussion, the Prime Minister said, "Yesterday, I had a one-to-one meeting with the Indian Foreign Minister along with the Nepalese delegation." In the meeting, I talked about the national interest of Nepal and the electricity trade agreement. Electricity trade agreement is in the national interest of Nepal. An agreement has been reached for Nepal to export 10,000 megawatts of electricity in ten years.

“  Huge Projects like Rs 20 crore are not for India alone to decide. Nepal also has a decision and partnership in this," the Prime Minister said, "The main thing is that India will buy 10,000 megawatts of electricity in ten years regardless of who produces it. There is no need to have any other illusions. The implementation of the agreement is also in accordance with the national interest of Nepal.

Responding to the questions of the MPs that the Indian Foreign Minister was interested in the visit of the Chinese representative to Nepal, the Prime Minister replied, "He did not utter a word about it even in the one-to-one and joint meetings." It is just a spread illusion and propaganda, there is no truth in it.”

In the discussion, the Prime Minister said that the emphasis was placed on consensus as much as possible in the bill to amend the Constitutional Council (Works, Duties, Rights and Procedures) Act 2066 and said that the amendment bill was brought to solve the problems seen in the past during the constitutional appointments.
