ISLAMABAD: The majority of people in Pakistan complain that the prices of fruits and vegetables increase in the country when Ramazan starts.
This was found in a Gallup Pakistan survey, in which more than 2,000 people participated from all over the country. It was conducted between 18th to 25th March 2024.
In the survey, 81 percent of Pakistanis expressed their anger over the increase in prices of fruits and vegetables during Ramazan; 7 percent said that the prices of fruits and vegetables decrease during Ramazan while 10 percent said there was no difference in the prices while 2pc did not give any answer to the question. When asked if they have broken fast in any free communal Iftar in Ramazan, 86pc said that they did not break their fast in any free communal Iftar this Ramazan. However, 13pc said they had participated in the communal Iftar, while 1pc refrained from giving any opinion.
Gallup Pakistan also asked the people where they will celebrate Eid this year. In response, 77pc of Pakistanis surveyed said that they will celebrate Eid in the city or village they are currently living in. Two percent did not give any answer to the question. But 17pc said they will go to their native areas.
