Officially, the owner of the luxury goods brand LVMH, Bernard Arnault, may be the richest man on earth, but reports suggest that there is one politician wealthier than them all, NDTV reported.
The fifth-time reigning president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, may just be wealthier than Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mukesh Ambani.
Even though Putin claims that he has an annual salary of $140,000 and lives in a modest 74-square-metre apartment, the Russian president’s net worth, which is estimated to be $200 billion, tells a completely different story.
According to reports, Putin owns a fleet of luxury cars, dozens of private jets, palatial mega yachts, and a wide array of real estate holdings.
The most iconic symbol of Putin's wealth is its alleged Black Sea mansion, located near the coastal town of Gelendzhik.
Dubbed "Putin's Country Cottage," the property includes an amphitheatre, a state-of-the-art ice hockey rink, a Vegas-style casino, and a nightclub.
In addition, Putin is believed to own 19 other houses, 700 cars, 58 aircraft and helicopters, and a $716 million plane humorously named "The Flying Kremlin."
The president's alleged ownership of a mega yacht named Scheherazade, worth a staggering $700 million, further fuels speculation about the extent of his wealth.
He is also believed to have an extensive collection of luxury watches that are priced six times more than his declared salary.
