Manchester City got the better of Tottenham a 2-0 victory in a thrilling match on Tuesday. Erling Haaland's team has upped the ante to secure their fourth consecutive Premier League title.
A win against West Ham on Sunday will seal the deal.
Arsenal had been banking on Tottenham to either defeat City or at least secure a draw, but their hopes were dashed.
The first half of the game ended without any goals. However, six minutes into the second half, City broke the deadlock. Erling Haaland, finding some room in the box, received a pass from Kevin De Bruyne and sent the ball straight into the net, giving City a 1-0 lead.
Phil Foden had previously attempted a shot towards the left side of the goal, but the goalkeeper managed to save it.
In the 47th minute, De Bruyne nearly scored for City with a shot from the edge of the box, but a fantastic save by Guglielmo Vicario kept the ball from entering the right post.
Two minutes later, Heung-Min Son received a perfect pass deep in the box and fired a low shot towards the goal, but the goalkeeper made an excellent save.
In the 74th minute, Dejan Kulusevski had a golden opportunity inside the six-yard box. He shot low towards the goal, but Stefan Ortega made a stunning save to deny him.
In the 87th minute, Heung-Min Son skillfully navigated through the defence and faced the keeper one-on-one, but couldn't score.
City secured their second goal in the first minute of added time from a penalty. Haaland outsmarted Guglielmo Vicario and sent an unstoppable penalty into the left side of the goal.
City will play their final match of the season at home against West Ham on Sunday, where they are expected to be crowned champions once again.
