The President’s Office, on Friday, revealed MVR 3.8 million was incurred for the Maldivian government’s delegation’s participation in the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4).
The SIDS24 was held at Antigua and Barbuda’s capital St. John from May 27th to May 30th.
A 16-member delegation accompanied President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on the visit. A total of MVR 2,644,485.88 for their airfare.
Additionally, MVR 141,312 was given to 16 delegates as pocket money. Henceforth, each delegate received over MVR 9,000 as pocket money.
Other expenses on the trip:
- Meals – MVR 164,014.17
- Stopover – MVR 18,468
- Incidental – MVR 6,134.70
- Accommodation – MVR 618,048.70
- Transport – MVR 271,956.52
The details of the expenses were disclosed as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s policy. The President also recently traveled to neighboring India to attend the inauguration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a historic third term.
