His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen concluded the State Visit to Mongolia and arrived back in Thimphu yesterday.
Their Majesties were seen off at Chinggis Khaan Airport by the Mongolian Foreign Minister, Batmunkh Battsetseg, and a guard of honour by the State Honour Guard.
The 8-day State Visit was a historic milestone in the diplomatic relations between Bhutan and Mongolia, as it marked the first State Royal Visit from Bhutan to Mongolia.Their Majesties thanked the government and people of Mongolia, and in particular the President, Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, for the exceptional warmth and hospitality accorded to Their Majesties and Their Royal Highnesses during the visit.
With numerous similarities, common cultural and religious ties and interests, Bhutan and Mongolia are destined for closer connections, and the success of the Royal Visit has provided added impetus for the two nations to expand cooperation in multiple, mutually beneficial areas going forward.
