By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 20: Bodies of two more passengers of the buses who went missing in the Trishuli River were found on Thursday night.

Joint Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the Armed Police Force, Shailendra Thapa, said that they were found by a team of the Indian Border Security Force. According to him, two bodies were found in the Narayani River at Champaran Nagaha, India, at around 9:30 pm on Thursday. The bodies have not been identified.

Two buses, one of them heading to Kathmandu from Bigunj and another heading to Rautahat from Kathmandu, were pushed into Trishuli by a massive landslide at Simaltal in Chitwan on July 12. The buses have not been found yet. 

According to the Armed Police Force, one of the bodies found on Indian soil has been brought and one is yet to be brought. Along with this, the bodies of 23 passengers have been found so far as of Friday afternoon. It has been a week since two buses went missing. 

There were 65 passengers in the two buses combined. Among them, three passengers managed to swim to safety immediately, but the remaining went missing. 

According to him, 14 of the bodies have been identified, while nine remain unidentified. The police have stated that the whereabouts of 39 individuals are still unknown.

The search continues, with 500 personnel from the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and divers equipped with sonar cameras.
