KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 16

Four people died, and 12 others sustained injuries in a bus accident in Dadeldhura. The night bus, en route from Mahendranagar to Purchaudi in Baitadi, crashed at Khasrekhana, Amargadhi Municipality-7, last night. 

According to police, two women, a man, and an infant died on the spot.

The deceased have been identified as 45-year-old Jaymati Bohara, 20-year-old Kamala Bohara, her son, and 22-year-old Sahadev Bohara, all residents of Purchaudi Municipality-3, Baitadi.

The bus driver, Birendra Bohara, sustained serious injuries and has been transferred to Dhangadhi for further treatment. The other injured passengers are receiving treatment at Dadeldhura Hospital.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident may have occurred because the driver fell asleep while driving.
