SATV March 30, Kathmandu: Flights are set to resume from Resunga Airport in Gulmi after three months.
Suman Thapa, Station Chief or Resunga Airport, said that preparations are underway to operate flights from Monday (March 31) at the airport, which has not been able to operate flights since December 19, 2024.
He said that there is a schedule for a flight of Nepal Airlines to operate on Monday morning. Thapa said that regular flights were affected due to aircraft maintenance.
Earlier, the flight, which was operating only once a week on Friday, was allowed to operate three times a week due to an increase in passenger traffic.
Thapa said that the schedule has been changed to operate only once a week on Friday after the onset of the rainy season.
He said that considering the recent passenger traffic, there is a schedule for flights on Fridays and Wednesdays.
He s aid that the flight is scheduled to depart from Kathmandu at 6:30 am and from Resunga to Kathmandu at 7:45 am.
Resunga Municipality, Gulmi informed that with Gulmi being connected to air traffic, tourists from France and Spain have also come to Gulmi.
Currently, fare from Gulmi to Kathmandu is Rs. 7,300 and from Kathmandu to Gulmi is Rs. 7,500, said Station Chief Thapa.
The airport can be reached via a five-kilometre unpaved road from Tamghas, the district headquarters.
Commercial flights were started from the airport on April 14, 2023.
