SATV April 2, Kathmandu: The short film, One In A Million, which tells the story of a Nepali immigrant’s dream of reaching America, has completed its shooting in the United States of America.
Made for short film festivals, the film features actor Hasan Raja Khan in the lead role.
Hasan made his debut in the Nepali film industry with Albida and later acted in Romeo.
He was the winner of the Mr. Capital title in a competition held in Kathmandu in 2009.
Directed by Bishal Sapkota, One In A Million portrays the story of a Nepali who takes a risky and illegal route in hopes of securing a better future in America, leaving behind his home and family.
“The film revolves around the struggles of such individuals,” said Hasan.
The film features Subash Thapa along with 20 other actors based in the US. The film was shot by cinematographer Rameshwor Karki.
In 2015, Hasan won the Best Debut Actor award at the NEFTA Awards held in Doha, Qatar.
He also announced the production of the film Departure at the Global Film Awards in New York.
According to Hasan, One in A Million will be screened at international festivals before its release in Nepal.
