SATV 20 May, Kathmandu:  least two foreign climbers died while attempting to climb the world's fourth highest mountain in the Everest region, officials confirmed.

An Indian climber from Makalu Adventure and another Romanian TV operator from Glacier Himalaya Treks died on Mt Lhotse on May 18, base camp officials said.

Rakesh Bishnoi from Rajasthan, India breathed his last at Yellow Band near Camp IV after returning from the summit point on Lhotse, officials quoted climbing guides as saying.

Rakesh climbed Lhotse after abandoning his Everest bid yesterday evening, they said, adding that he died near Yellow Band on descent.

Zsolt Vago, one of the most experienced videographer of Romanian national TV, also breathed his last while attempting to climb Lhotse yesterday, according to officials. The Romanian climber died above 8,000m near Lhotse Couloir, officials claimed.

Efforts were underway to recover their bodies from the high camp, they added.

Earlier, two foreigners - a Filipino and an Indian climber from Snowy Horizon Treks- died while attempting to climb Mt Everest.
