SATV Kathmandu Oct 09: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Kulman Ghising has directed officials to expedite the repair of the BP Highway damaged by last week’s floods.

During an on-site inspection at Roshi in Kavre on Thursday, Ghising instructed the Department of Roads to accelerate work to reopen the highway at the earliest.

Local representatives from Namobuddha Municipality, Roshi Rural Municipality, and Mahabharat Rural Municipality briefed the minister on the difficulties residents have faced due to the disruption.

Ghising said additional machinery would be mobilised to speed up the work and assured that the highway would be operational by Friday evening.

Around 3.5 kilometres of the diversion along the BP Highway were completely destroyed by the floods last week.
