It has been reported that Mera Peak, which is 6,476 metres above sea level and lies in the Everest region, is suitable for ski mountaineering. A study that was recently conducted to ascertain whether ski mountaineering is suitable at Mera Peak has revealed that the peak is appropriate for the purpose.

Pathak further informed that ski training will be conducted at Mera Peak in preparation for the 2026 Winter Olympics to be held in Italy. He added that there are plans to form a skiing team to participate in the Olympics in Italy.
