On the occasion of the International Labor Day, President Ramchandra Paudel expressed his belief that the working class will also benefit from the implementation of the constitutional provisions to build a democratic, socialist-oriented economy in the country. Paudel said that, for the economic prosperity of the country, it is essential to build a self-sufficient and independent economy by increasing domestic production through the development of entrepreneurship. He emphasized that since the contribution of both entrepreneurs who invest capital and workers who invest labor and skills are equally important for the development of entrepreneurship, production and productivity should be increased by creating a decent labor environment.
In his congratulatory message issued by Prime Minister Dahal, he expressed that "I would like to inform you that a policy will be taken to include at least 2 percent of workers in the various honors and awards given annually by the highest positions of the nation, effective from this year". Similarly, through the message he delivered , "I express my commitment to activate the monitoring bodies to make the service conditions and facilities certain and legal by clarifying the work, duties and rights of the laborers".

But it is difficult for the workers to sustain their lives with the specified minimum wage. According to the information of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security, the new salary should be determined by the end of the next financial year.
But the minimum wage determination committee, which is a tripartite mechanism of the government, employers and trade unions, has not been able to hold a meeting to determine the new wages. Now the workers do not need a minimum wage, they need a living wage, that helps sustain life Vinod Shrestha, president of the Joint Trade Union Coordination Center (JTUC), said. There is a huge financial burden on workers. We need a salary that addresses this financial burden.
