Current Election Results One After Another Proves Public Asks for Change

Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of Rastriya Swatantrata Party(RSP)

Rastriya Swatantrata Party(RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane who had won Chitwan-2 has won again breaking his own record from the same constituency and economist Swarnim Wagle, who had joined the RSP only days before filing his nomination paper also won with a margin of more than 14,000 votes in his first attempt. 

Lamichhane won the election of Chitwan 2 by earning 54 thousand 276 votes. 4 thousand 876 votes of Lamichhane has been increased in this by-election in comparision to the election of November 4. He had got 49 thousand 300 votes in the previous election for members of the House of Representatives.

The votes of Congress-UML have decreased more than before. Jitnarayan Shrestha, Congress representative in Chitwan got only 11 thousand 214 votes. Umesh Shrestha in the previous election of November had got 14,988 votes. This election, Jit Narayan Shrestha from Congress got 3,774 less votes than Nepali Congress former candidate Umesh Shrestha in Chitwan 2.

UML's votes have also decreased with few thousands. UML's candidate Neupane, who is third in the by-election, has received 10,936 votes. UML's Krishna Bhakta Pokhrel got 14,752 votes in the previous election. But now UML candidate Ram Prasad Neupane got 3,786 votes less than Pokhrel in the same area in two different time frame.  Among 78,634 votes that were cast 78,466 votes were good and only 168 were bad.

Besides, Rastriya Swatantrata Party candidate Swornim Wagley has been elected to the House of Representatives in Tanahu-1 as he won with 34,480 votes which is 14,388 votes more than his closest competitor Govinda Bhattarai of Nepali Congress. Nepali Congress candidate Bhattarai was successful to give a competition by achieving 20,092 total votes. Likewise, Congress-UML candidate Sarwendra Khanal placed third with 8, 555 votes in his ballot.

Swornim Waagley an economist who stood up from Tanahu-1 from RSP. 

Wagley grabbed 54% of the total votes in his pocket representing RSP even though it had been decades for him being a member of Nepali Congress, quit the party alleging 'humiliation' at the hands of party president Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife and above that regisetred his candidacy just at April 3.
