An exhibition titled, “A Tribute to the Life and Legacy of Her Majesty the Gyalyum Sangay Choden Wangchuck” opened at the Royal Textile Academy (RTA) on May 13 to commemorate Her Majesty’s 60th Birth Anniversary.

At the opening, Her Majesty was accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Eeuphelma Choden Wangchuck, ministers, government officials, and international dignitaries.

The exhibition displayed a range of artefacts, photographs, and videos that illustrated different aspects of Her Majesty’s life from her early years to her role as a diplomat, philanthropist, and advocate for women’s rights.

The exhibition also highlighted several initiatives and projects initiated by Her Majesty that have had a lasting impact on the growth and advancement of Bhutan.

The exhibition, jointly curated and organised by RTA and the Textile Museum, Department of Culture and Dzongkha Development, will be open for public viewing from today.

RTA also hosted the first musical theatre performance of ‘Grease’ on May 14. ‘Grease’ is a timeless classic that has captured the hearts of audiences around the world.

The main objective of this project was to discover, nurture and provide a platform for singers, dancers, actors and musicians; to help develop an appreciation for theatre and the performing arts.
