KATHMANDU, July 5: Chairman of the main opposition party CPN-UML and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that they want resignation but not the clarification of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
Chairman Oli clarified that Prime Minister Dahal need to resign as his remarks have made a gross insult to national independence, self-respect, the constitution and the parliament itself.
The demand of UML Chairman Oli comes in the wake of Prime Minister Dahal saying a few days ago that an Indian citizen Pritam Singh had made several attempts to convince the Indian establishment to make him the Prime Minister. The opposition parties including UML disrupted the parliament meeting on Wednesday demanding his resignation.
Talking to media persons after the parliament meeting, Chairman Oli told the media that what his party needs is Prime Minister Dahal's resignation and not an explanation about that expression. "The prime minister did not do a good job. By doing bad things, he insulted the national self-respect, independence, the constitution, and the parliament through such expressions. So, he needs to resign. Who asked him to clarify? We need resignation, not clarification.”
On that occasion, Chairman Oli also claimed that Prime Minister Dahal had not done anything good for the country.
