The 230-student Sh. Feydhoo School has raised over MVR 100,000 from the sale of school badges to assist Palestinians.
Feydhoo School’s principal Ibrahim Nasheed said the school sold the badges from November 2-12. The school raised over MVR 112,200 from sales.
Nasheed said that the money, along with the funds raised from a fundraiser being carried out by the island’s youth, will be donated to the International Aid Campaign (IAC)’s Gaza emergency relief fund.
“We expect to donate over MVR 200,000 from these two fundraisers,” he said.
Nasheed said the school’s students and employees were given 10 badges each to sell at the rate of MVR 10. But purchasers were given the opportunity to buy the badges for more than the set rate.

He said that it was the third fundraiser held under the ‘Madhadhu’ program set up at the initiative of the school’s students this year.
“We have raised over MVR 164,049 [under the Madhadhu program], including from the sale of badges. We plan on conducting more fundraisers in the future,” he said.
“We are pleased to be able to assist people in need with the initiative of our students.”
The Feydhoo School thanked everyone who contributed to the fundraiser.
