President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Tuesday, began his tour of Gaafu Alifu and Gaafu Dhaalu atolls as part of his ongoing trip to the southernmost atolls of the Maldives.

The President has already visited Addu City and Fuvahmulah City as part of this trip.

He will be visiting the following islands from Gaafu Alifu and Gaafu Dhaalu atolls:

• Gaafu Alifu Atoll: Gemanafushi, Kondey, Villingili, Kolamaafushi, Dhaandhoo
• Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll: Faresmaathoda, Madaveli, Thinadhoo, Gadhdhoo, Fiyoari

However, he will meet with councils of all islands based in these atolls.

President Muizzu is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising of cabinet ministers and ministers at the President’s Office.

In his visit to Addu City, President Muizzu honored the signing ceremony of the preliminary design and survey of the Hithadhoo and Hulhumeedhoo Bridges; one of the major projects that will be implemented in the city.

Meanwhile, during his visit to Fuvahmulah City, President Muizzu inaugurated phase two of the city’s road development project and made various pledges to the residents of the city.
