Colombo. Feb. 22 - Efforts are being made to introduce the E-Passport service to eliminate the long queues at the Immigration and Emigration Department office in Battaramulla.
Addressing the media Minister, Tiran Alles said that long queues have been created to obtain passports for the Korean Language Proficiency Test.
He mentioned ongoing discussions with the Korean government to implement a system where passports are issued only to those who pass the exam.
Additionally, the Minister shared updates on measures being taken in various sectors across the nation.
He said that all preparations have been completed to issue the new National Identity Cards (NIC) through the Department for Registration of Persons.
